1. Keep looking forward – don’t question your decision
It is best not to try and rationalize, second guess or question the reason you started NoFap – just keep on track. As Gretchen Reuben states, the people who stick most to their goals are the ones who decide once and then don’t waste their mental energy continuing to second guess their decision or purpose. Just make the choice, don’t look back and keep looking forward – it is all worth it

2. Stay off social media and away from electronic as much as you can
This one is important because this is why a lot of relapses happen. People are on social media, then they either see something sexual or they start searching for something sexual and then it is all downhill from there. At the sign of any escalation or even thinking about edging or PMO – it is best to remove yourself from the social media bombardment. Start to do something else, keep active – even go outside. Have an escape location when you are on the edge of a relapse such as going to your favourite coffee shop or pastry store. Planning is key. 

3. Keep reminding yourself why you are quitting (daily affirmations)
Keep up with your daily affirmations and reasoning to why you are quitting PMO. Affirmations work as long as they are relative and realistic i.e. you are able to make them come through. Affirmations are just positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often, and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes in your life by way of a good mindset that lead to tangible results.

4. Keep away from negative situations and people
Sometimes friend and even family can be a very negative influence that will stagnate you and dull your growth. If you feel this is the case then you need to remove yourself from these situations and fast. It is always good to have high energy and be on a high vibration since they are linked to positivity, compassion, peacefulness and love while low vibrations are linked to anxiety, sadness, fear and depression. Give your mind a break and a breath of fresh air by finding being positive and being around positive people. As the saying goes, “like likes like” – so if you are positive then that is what you will attract into your life like a gravitational pull.

5. Don’t touch yourself
The fastest way to crash and burn is to touch yourself. Don’t even start or even think about it – it will only lead to everything bad. Stay focused, be in control of your mind. Practice being stoic and mindfulness – it all helps. 

6. Visualize and physically manifest the days you’ve earned in real life somehow
Reinforce your progress with NoFap, this can be having ice cream for every 30 days you are successful with NoFap or just even crossing off sticks on a wall. All these ideas reinforce your decision and will help you stay afloat while on your NoFap journey.

7. Keep staying positive to stay on track
Keep being positive and supportive of your own self. Learn a new language, eat out somewhere new, maybe get a new shirt or jeans, clean up your place, go out and make new friends and accomplish new tasks. All of this will reinforce why you are doing NoFap and help keep you on track.

8. Tell a friend or family member about what you are doing 
ome people fear this idea of telling a friend or family member that they are on NoFap. But the thing is, if you fear a negative outcome of placing trust in a family member or friend then that relationship is toxic. A friend or family member shouldn’t ridicule you for your decisions. They should objectively listen, be empathetic and communicate to you whether they feel your decision is good or bad in a mature manner. If you tell a friend what you are doing and they start laughing at you then that person is not your friend and it is time to find real ones.

9. Avoid alcohol and the MJ
It is best to stay away from thought altering substances in order to successfully achieve a reboot. Why would you drink alcohol and smoke weed when they alter your mind while your mind is being altered in another way? It just doesn’t make sense to me. Stay away from anything that reduces your ability to stay in control of your thoughts and mind. You are on a quest and you need every iota of thought and energy. You have to have control and be constantly careful of avoiding getting triggered. When we’re sober, we do this the best.

10. Sleep well, and avoid night-thinking or night-time computer use
Having a good night’s sleep is one of the most important things anyone can do for themselves. Our minds and bodies get tired and we require sleep. This is especially true during a reboot where so many changes are occurring that we need to be fully refreshed each and everyday. So set a bed time and get yourself to sleep at it daily.

Over-all, practice these 10 things to help you better maintain course for a very successful reboot when practicing NoFap. Remember, this is a practice and not a competition, it is also a marathon and not a race. You don’t need to be perfect, just do the best you can and if you stumble, get up, dust yourself off and try again.
